High-alloy steels and stainless steels: drilling, grinding, milling, angle grinding
Mechanical work involving the drilling, grinding, milling or angle grinding of high-alloy and stainless steel components produces shavings and particles; flying sparks are a particular hazard when angle grinding. The metals contained in high-alloy steels may produce particles which are both respirable and carcinogenic. A pair of safety goggles and a protection class FFP3 respirator should be worn for adequate protection against these dangers. You can find product suggestions for this purpose below. Please ensure all appropriate and requisite personal protective equipment (PPE) is worn, as offered by uvex.
